Alistair Doxat-Purser

Faithworks is a Dorset-based Christian charity that works alongside people through times of crisis, building hope and resilience to deal with times ahead. Alistair Doxat-Purser has been chief executive of Faithworks since 2013. He is passionate about everyone being within 15 minutes of a place of safety, hope, friendship and support, where people know they will be listened to and find immediate help: which the church has the opportunity to be. In his time there, Faithworks has worked to radically develop its foodbank, homelessness and recovery offerings into multi-service ‘life centres’ so that individuals can get a range of support on site to help them regain resilience and never go back to crisis. Alistair had his eyes opened to the idea of spiritual, social and cultural transformation of a place while he was head of service at Hull City Council; during his time there, he also helped start Hull Foodbank in 2011 and chaired the team responsible for city-wide prayer known as ‘the King’s Breakfast’.
